Indian Rock Farm got it’s name from the past. No telling how long ago or for how long the area was used as seasonal hunting grounds by Native Americans. There are rock cliffs and rock formations on the farm [pictured here] where they made camp while on their hunting trips. Knowledge of this has been passed down by word of mouth through several generations of the families of the European settlers, some of whom still inhabit the area. There is evidence of this Native American presence by the black soot under some of the rock overhangs from the campfires they built and from artifacts left behind.
